Presidium real estate investment and management firm has completed construction on a new luxury senior living apartment community in Frisco.
Presidium at Edgestone is a 188-unit, 165,398-square-foot, upscale age-restricted community on an 18-acre site at 5857 Legacy Drive.
Designed by Cross Architects and SeeSaw Creative, the age 62-plus community offers freestanding independent living cottages in addition to an amenity-filled residential building.
The gated community has more than 30 one-story cottages with open floor plans, high ceilings, quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, wood plank, ceramic tile flooring, energy-efficient appliances and light fixtures, walk-in closets and private patios.
In addition to the freestanding cottages, a three-story residential building offers guests high-end amenities, including multi-purpose clubrooms, a resort-style swimming pool, a fitness and wellness center, library and cyber lounge, media and game rooms, pavilions and a resident gardening area with shade structures.
The community capitalizes on perks the city of Frisco has to offer, from recreational activities to medical services, entertainment and shopping, said John Griggs, co-CEO and co-founder of Presidium.
The active-adult community is surrounded by some of the most impressive parks and walking trails in the country: Phillips Community Park and the newly planned 275-acre Grand Park, Griggs said. More than 10 golf courses are nearby, as are a 17,000-square-foot Senior Center at Frisco Square, The Star, The Gate, Frisco Station, Plano’s burgeoning Legacy West and more, he said.
“With Frisco being one of the most burgeoning cities in the nation, Presidium at Edgestone meets the need of luxury housing for adults who are still seeking independence and activity,” Griggs said in a prepared statement. “We have been looking forward to opening Presidium at Edgestone’s doors and being a part of the wonderful growth the suburbs of North Dallas are experiencing. That time is finally here.”
Presidium, founded in 2003, is a Texas-based real estate developer, owner, and operator with a portfolio totaling about $2 billion of assets under management.
The company in November opened Presidium Revelstoke for leasing in Fort Worth. Revelstoke is an upscale, three-story 466,515-square-foot apartment community near the Alliance Town Center shopping and dining district in North Fort Worth.
While Presidium Revelstoke is currently leasing units, that project is expected to be fully complete in 2021. Ultimately, the community will have 408 units.
